HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT
PUBLIC RECORDS NOTICE
Pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 19.34(1), this Notice is provided to the public as to the times, place and methods whereby the public may gain access for the purposes of inspection and copying of public records maintained by the Rock County Human Resources Department.

The Human Resources team partners with more than 20 County Departments to provide guidance and support to ensure that each Department is equipped with the necessary tools to complete their established goals and missions. Our staff are committed to providing the highest quality customer service to employees, retirees, and applicants.
TYPES OF RECORDS:
Employment Records, including but not limited to, recruitment files, personnel files, medical files, and grievance/arbitration files. Other records could include, county benefit administration files, affirmative action and civil rights compliance files, union contracts, or salary/wage comparison studies.
PLACE AND ESTABLISHED TIMES OF ACCESS:
Human Resources Department, Rock County Courthouse, 5th Floor, 51 S. Main Street, Janesville, Wisconsin 53545. 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
LEGAL CUSTODIAN:
Human Resources Director.
METHOD OF ACCESS:
Requests to the Rock County Human Resources Office may be made orally or in writing and must be reasonably specific as to subject matter and time period. Please be clear and specific about what you are requesting as vague requests will take longer to fulfill and may be denied. Requests may be submitted in any of the following ways:

COPYING OF RECORDS, COST OF COPIES AND RESEARCH:
Requesters of records or information shall ask the custodian to prepare copies of the same, which shall be provided at the established rate per page ($0.25). Prepayment will be required if the total amount of the fees exceeds $5.00. In the event that the cost, in terms of labor and other expenses, of locating a record exceeds $50.00, the requester shall be assessed such costs. In addition, the requester shall pay the actual costs of mailing and shipping.
