WHAT IS THE OPIATE TREATMENT PROGRAM?

In response to the opioid epidemic, Rock County Human Services started the Opiate Treatment Program. The primary goal of the Opiate Treatment Program is to help individuals access Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and prevent overdose death. The Opiate Treatment Program provides cognitive-behavioral therapy and case management support in conjunction with MAT services.

WHAT TREATMENT AND SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE?

Treatment offered includes group counseling (up to 11 hours per week), case management, urine drug testing and Medication Assisted Treatment such as Suboxone and Vivitrol. Interested individuals should contact Rock County Connections for screening and referral. Following initial screening, individuals will then be scheduled for a two hour session to complete a comprehensive substance use assessment. After the assessment, individuals will be scheduled with a psychiatrist to discuss medication options. Medications are not stored on-site and are prescribed through a pharmacy.

Individuals who enroll in the Opiate Treatment Program are required to participate in random urine analysis screening, medication counts and group counseling. Suboxone and Vivitrol are the only medications that will be prescribed in this program. Suboxone will be provided with a limited quantity or days prescribed at a time and individuals may be required to participate in daily dosing at the pharmacy.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Rock County residents over age 18 with a history of opioid use are eligible for services. Pregnant and IV drug users are given priority admission.

HOW DO CLIENTS PAY FOR SERVICES?

We understand many people have insurance coverage that allows them to access private agencies on their own, however, they have not been able to access the MAT portion of treatment. This program serves people with or without insurance but we will ask about insurance coverage and some basic financial information.
